o.d.m.’s newest modern watches, the MY01 and MY02 Reverse Collection, comes from designer Michael Young. Both watches are very sleek. On the MY01 Reverse analog collection, you will not find a side button, but a super large knock-sensor at its face, making it a very unique piece. The wearer can simply tap it to activate the EL backlight function that enables a glow below the button. The minimal design of the three hands allows only their tips to appear on the outer ring of the button for a total new perspective in time.

Graphic designer Roeland Otten had an idea back when he was in school at Design Academy Eindhoven: to make communicative seating. Almost 10 years later, he’s finally fulfilled this dream with help from Fonds BKVB and Materiaalfonds. This prototype alphabet of chairs and stools consists of all 26 letters made from lacquered MDF. Right now, they’re being produced one-off as limited editions, but we hope he’ll find a manufacturer soon to make plastic versions.

The story was inspired by the life of Earl Manigault, a basketball player who lost everything in drugs. Near the end of his life he dedicated his time to helping children of Harlem avoid the same fate. It was during this time that he started the “Walk Away From Drugs” tournament for kids. He died in 1998 from a heart failure.

The storyline in the actual film very non-linear and I think it is meant to be more of an abstract subjective interpretation of Manigault’s personal struggle with his inner-demons. It’s a beautiful little short though and the color and animation are really great for a student film. Impressive work

This is art. Where dysfunctionality sometimes IS creativity in its best. Designed for Balenciaga, Pierre Hardy seeks to match the hight tech materials of Nicholas Ghesquires clothing design, mixing block heels with a collage of materials. J.Crew. Where do I start? J.Crew defines for both their mens and womens lines a very simple traditional look that emphasis class and elegance, but yet with a childish summer time feel. It says to the passer by, "Effortless." and it screams to the person who has a real fashion eye "CLASSIC." Both are very true, because J.Crew in my opinion embodies that. From even there store set up, there look is very classic and very effortless, where creativity comes from the individual, not from the clothing. Here is the Womens Look Book and some looks I wanted to highlight that if you are petite or know how to look at fashion not for what IS, as IS, but what you can make out of it, and how you can incorporate great idea looks into your own personal look, this Look Book will be a standard for spring 2010 for womens wear. I ll help you talk out what I was thinking and also how you should look at things even if they dont look right off first glance.

Classy yet relaxing, were its appropriate for a rip in a jean because they truly do show a rugged character, a sorta " These are my favorite relaxing jeans feel" tied together with a basic white blouse shirt with a beautiful flower detail that would be hard to pull of but can, if, it is the focal point and not fighting against other accessories women sometimes dont quite utilize correctly. With accessories, they are accents and need to be treated just like that, if you have a focal point, accenting your outfit you cant have too many, dependent on size and color, the eye wants to see the whole picture and be able to tie everything together almost instantaneously. You can achieve this process better and faster by being conscious of what you want to isolate as a focal point, first before creating your overall outfit. You do this so that your outfit works around it and can flow off of that, so Eye sees focal point but yet avoids any other distractions. Shoes worn are appropriately basic and I love the brown color choice because it gives the outfit a earth tone feel. I love the tan hat, and truly defines this models character and incorporates that classic spring/ summertime feel.

Petite girls can get away with wearing smaller shorts, its a fact of life. The more is there the more should be covered up. Everything in moderation. Now that i have said that lets continue. That vest and blouse go perfect with the dye in the jean short and carefully accents the shoes, that i must mention are crazy Fly. I love this feel in this outfit.

Peep the color scheme and how Like I fore mentioned that you can directly notice the focal point of this fit and everything about this outfit is to tie it in effectively. I love the elegance yet sporty look about this fit. Gold and pearl accessories to give it class, shoes gives it that spunk, and the flower accent on head is to let you know im still a young lady. I can Digg.

What? never seen Fly? OK ill pose.

Perfect example for you females stuck on color coordinating EVERY color. Do you see this scheme? neon green, tan grey, and pink. PERFECTLY ORCHESTRATED. How? basic principle in fashion I believe is building one color to the next color rather build your outfit around one or two colors. You gotta learn your schemes and what colors naturally go together. give your outfit flow. Make sure like model is displaying to tie outerwear lightly and know that grey colors go with about anything and when your outfit is Simple, adding a splash of color outside the scheme is fine. Very dependent tho. Her glasses, classic vintage.

ARMY FATIGUE? YES! J.Crew sought out to incorporate a military feel in their line this spring and why not when it is done this effortlessly? If you dont learn anything from me, learn this and repeat after me " EVERYTHING IN MODERATION" If you follow this rule, you will be surprise what you can pull off or incorporate. Army fatigue only looks terrible when its O.D'd ( aka, in excess, OR TOO MUCH...permission to bite) I love how animal print looks with camo, and you can see them pictured here wonderfully in moderation. here we see Grey again which can be a finisher to any outfit to give it a relaxed look.

Love the Colors and Tall blazer coat.

SHOES! outfit, simple yet sporty with a concentration on elegance.

Creativity goes a long way when you know how to incorporate it. Love the mix-match in materials and textures to create almost a two in one out fit. I can digg.

Attention to details. look how instead of having the scarf free falling, the stylist decides to tuck it in the rope belt. I love it. Gives another detail and purpose to the outfit. Brilliant. NOT to mention the scheme is perfect.

Splash of color. Green pants and White Jacket as a finisher The orange placed in a statement of accident and with no purpose, actually demands attention and seems rather strategic. I love it.

Simple elegant, oh yeah. the SHOES.

WOW. I love how this yellow lays on this Miami Green color, its Perfect, and the lace accent adds a classy random flare to it thats feasibly appropriate. Notice how the Green in the pants and orange in shoes goes great together but more importantly it is separate but equal to the whole setup of the outfit. PERFECT. and Glasses are BOMB.COM. try and pull those off.

Same Idea different pallet. Love the metallic boat shoes. Definitely a must this spring form mens and womens. Army fatigue never looked so good. RIGHT? take notes.

This is effortless. Oh how it seems. Have you noticed that the best ideas come to you when you dont think and wear what you want to wear?

Bold yet graceful. Why? because although her blazer is big and somewhat intimidating the pink and tan are just too cool together to not love this look. pocket detail in skirt is dope. Rule of thumb, if you dont have anything in your pockets, your hands will be perfect.

FLAWLESS VICTORY. no comment necessary.

Yes she did it. Stripe Long sleeve and spaghetti strap tan dress with a accented pink scarf. Tell her she aint fly. STALE FACE.

“Stereotype” is a door designed by Kazutoyo Yamamoto of Dessence Co, Ltd. The door has just a doorknob with no lock. However, the door still has secure features, even though it doesn’t have a traditional lock. The idea is that stereotypes have driven design to associate “security” with a lock. The door has been designed so that the only way to forcibly enter is to destroy the door.

Get It? I'll explain. It took me a minute too. You lift the Knob function up and to a certain position the right to open, to keep locked, you leave knob function to left. Logic says that for something to be "secure" it needs a lock, but Genius says you just need to think about what the other person WONT.

So on Saturdays, back in the day, man I promise were the best days! My bro's and I would tag on the phone, " Yo you tryna skate?" "Yo, its 75 and breezy baby!" "Yo, lets go to the Courthouse!" " Lets go downtown Raleigh!" We would trade our catch phrases for about 20 mins all meaning one thing, ITS SKATE DAY. I would go run and get dressed, shoe string belt, Levi's 501's, basic v-neck some Sb's, and a hat to match, was my steez of choice. Beg my mom to run me around to my Bro Corey Woods house that stayed 10 mins away from the hood, and if she said yes, it was on like Donkey Kong. It would be maybe 4 of us dedicated skate rats (as the old heads would call us because we were always at the skate spots and skate park ) and the first thing we had to do to hype us up for the skate day was video time. Now I never got the latest video before my bro's I was the kid who got the burnt copy after everybody watched it. I didn't care cause I was always a humble kid. This was the time I loved and was so important to all of us, cause this was the time we can see the things that we only would dream of doing done with eaze and steez.

So on my blog I dedicate that 30 mins before our skate day every Saturday with a Video that as a Kid I watched that got me hyped on skating . Ill start first with one of my favorite skaters of all time: Devine Calloway. Why? because he was BLACK! ha. naw but Devine had such a chill attitude and just a great smooth lax style, his backside 360 flips were dialed, and Da Dude was always smiling! He reminded me alot of how I felt when I was skating with all my friends. Also YES, because he was black. My hood and black associates would always be like " Bruh, why you always skateboarding like dem whiteboys? You know good and well there aint any black skaters dat skate like dem white boys!" Among other things they would try and shoot me on, like my "whiteboy shoes" (I called them vans, nike sb's and Lakai's, that cost more then there air force ones) my skateboard deck that started at bout a buck twenty. and my jeans that were tighter then the trash bag they were wearing. I didn't care after 7th grade, cause thats when I saw Devine Calloway, Jeron Wilson, Stevie Williams, Bastien Salabanzi, and some other Cats who were black and killing it. I would always show them Devine Calloway, and there mouths shut CLOSE.

This has always been my steez. been through alot of phases of fashion styles, been through a plethora of intrests from Skateboarding to interior designing, from Golf to Basketball. I have done alot of things but I have always had a deep intrest and passion for modern living. I can remember as a 6th 7th grader spending hours upon hours of researching the whole space enthusist era of fashion circa 1950 all throughout the 60's and early 70s. To the Space helmet T.V to the U.FO inspired space homes, I knew it all and dreamed of the day that I would be able to re-creat and re-invent this era of design I loved.

I honestly know where it came from and also why so many females are followers to such a trend in hopes of maybe gaining attention and acceptance. HOLLYWOOD. Nothing new. so what if your not as trendy and comfortable with not compromising being cool for what you stand for? or you just want a different look? Whats the alternative? PATCH IT UP.

Birth of the COOL : Barkley L. Hendricks

I had the Honor to Check out a Barkley L.Hendricks exhibit free for the first time at Duke's Nasher Museum. The exhibit stood out so much to me because not only was the paintings more detailed then I have ever seen in any figure painting, but these were actual people in real life circa 1964 to present. Showing different attitudes and characters, I fell in love with the history in each piece. Barkley L. Hendricks Superiorly captured every detail of these individuals to the "T." This exhibit, I honestly have to say is my favorite of many.

RETRO is FORWARD: Recap of Dior Homme Spring 2009

Sometimes it is not about looking forward or even at the present to get inspired to be "Fashion Forward." To me its about being able to step backwards and seeing what has already worked and thus making it work for you in the present. I believe innovation comes after, when you then make it your own and putting your own creative ideas to a concept or idea.True, there is a element of "thinking out of the box" that some have and most do not, in where never before seen schemes come and can be made relatable to the common consumer. This to me is what makes a true fashion head, fashionable. This is how a trendsetter gets his/her coveted title. Being able to step back but Jump forward. Most who are fashion forward do this naturally, triggered by research and exposure. Dior Homme's Spring/ Summer 2009, is a great way to start. Here is some looks that I wanted to highlight from last year to show/predict what I see THIS year. At least for me that is. Enjoy.

Pixel Vision. These Trendy Futuristic shades reminds me of the days when I was young lad and very much a Lego Nerd. I would build all day and would try and make normal objects or accessories out of the bricks. These Distinctive Frames have a transparent accenta with metal side parts. Parellel World by Dzimitry Samal is inspired by the thought there are parellel universes existing in our universe. The ojects that are hidden are somewhere in that " parallel world" we dont get to see them which follows the theme of being in a world un seen. Intresting to the eye at first glance and curiosity soon follows as you follow the ubjects up and around the wall. This project will also be presented in Milan Design Week from April 14th th April 19th.

I want to Highlight a Few of some looks I loved in the Mens Fall 2010 Show:

K'Nice Review: Love the simple innovations with the classic "knot" tie. The uniformity with the edgy hair was Distinctive yet very Ace Ventura, I digg it. The Boots are seriously the best I have seen in all Fall 2010's Fashion Shows in Milan, Tall yet still follows a intresting turn by incorporating a high fashion sneaker feel. Color schemes, PERFECT. Hate the show of white socks, dont know if the stylist is a M.J fan, but last time I check he was dead. moving right along. Superior use of the messanger bag and briefcase, Bottega Veneta does a superb Job with creating relatable yet forward looks, and im very immpressed overall.

One Brick at a Time: LEGO Boardroom Table

ABGC architecture & design satisfies and pleases the eye again. With being able to "see design as having both aesthetic and function and that every piece of building construction has design possibilities" they are able to produce timeless pieces and designs that indefinetly demand appreciation and full attention. Commisioned from A recently-formed advertising agency, Boys and Girls, to create a comfortable, modern space in a Georgian building. The proposal also included a 4′x9′ boardroom table design made entirely of LEGOs, complete with the company’s logo embedded into the tabletop.

The table consists of 22,742 pieces clicked together with traditional LEGO construction techniques (no glue), a 136-mm grommet is located in its center. It sits on a polished stainless steel square hollow section structure built by B.A. Engineering of Prussia St and is topped with a 10-mm sheet of toughened glass manufactured by Action Glass.

In addition, they also created a stop-motion video of the project with the help of Artist Cormac Browne, using tripods, clamps and magic arms from the wizards sleeve of camera equipment. View it HERE :

I remember my FIRST Blazers. It was in 6th Grade and they were Grey/Navy Blue and O.G. The Cool Kids used to pick on daKid every time I wore my classic kicks. They didnt even think they were actually Nike's cause they werent Air Force One's. As you should know, I didnt care cause I knew what i was wearing was Tight to me. They stood out to me cause they reminded me of what Chuck Taylors would look if Nike had did there version to the already classic shoe. I loved the simplicity of them and I would still have my O.G blazers to this day if I didnt give them to a bro last year who needed some sneakers. Yeah I know, but it be-like-that...anyways, I stopped wearing Nike Dunks & Blazers TEMPORARILY because of how popular wack rap/r&b artists made them, the more common they became, the less appealing they were begining to become to me. This I would not allow happen so all my Blazers got put on ice but right when I thought I would buy nomore Blazers, Nike did it again:

The Blazer AC High LE Red Velcro is my favorite out of the Spring/ Summer 2010 Blazer GR's. The Blazer AC High LE Velcro honors the original Air Jordan 1 Low Velcro. The outer shell is constructed of a red patent with a inner tan leather lining. The Outside resembling a jolly rancher red loli-pop, accented with two black strips, the design team truly gives the shoe a edgy look yet the color scheme is relateable. Strapped with Five horizontal straps going directly across, Nike has truly given the Blazer a updated futuristic Look. Dope aint the Word.

W [ I ] W or What I Wear Wednesday's, is something I will do every wednesday, highligting brands I personnally rock and endorse. Each brand, in no particular order, represents a different hue of my own fashion spectrum, giving you a vivid picture of what I rock, and most importantly, how I see and feel what is true fashion. enjoy.

G-Star RAW

I was first introduced to G-star RAW when a bro of mines came back from Cali with some free t-shirts and some other miscellaneous gear he picked up while attending a random fashion convention he got invited to. Asked me if I wanted a tee, and humbly I accepted before I even saw that it was a white deep V-neck t-shirt. I looked up the brand on the tag, as i would rutinely do with any new gear, because beyond the style of any brand I feel a certain standard must be met with any company and accordingly so, most not contrast with my beliefs as a Christian by wearing it. I definitly was stoked with what I found. I lost that tee, but I never lost my appreciation for G-star Raw.

Started in 1989 ( the year K'Nice was born) G-STAR makes a stand on letting there product speak for themselves. WorldWIDE Leaders in innovation, combining fresh denims that are always cut above perfection. Military influenced and noted pioneers in there uses of Raw Denims and experimental washes. G- star's is simply put authentic and to me defines a simplistic yet edgy futuristic look. I love there Boots and there Cargo's are a perfect fit. G-Star RAW Sweaters and t-shirts are ment to fit and not sag, giving it a tailored yet basic look. There graphics are never complex, and there simple innovations on the shape of the V- Neck tee is appreciated. Stylish yet simple. G-Star RAW will always have a place in my closet. FACT.
