Walking HOME: architectural balenciaga shoes
DOPE.COM, this is where innovation meets fun. People argue functionality in these particular shoes, why? These shoes are not going to be worn for more then 1 hour, two hours top 90% of the time. This is art. Where dysfunctionality sometimes IS creativity in its best. Designed for Balenciaga, Pierre Hardy seeks to match the hight tech materials of Nicholas Ghesquires clothing design, mixing block heels with a collage of materials. The shoes are made from a full range of materials that include leather, plastic, wood, metal and a few new hight tech materials. "The design features classic forms like the loafer and brogue, reinvented with the square heels made from collaged bits of plastic that are reminiscent of Memphis Design. The front of the shoes also have plastic elements tacked on underneath to raise them up. Other designs even have slip-in style front that take a design cue from water ski bindings."
