Hipster Children's Fashions

The Emerson Dollhouse by Brinca Dada

NYC-based brinca dada is Doug Rollins and Tim Boyle, who both spent time living in Brazil and fell in love with the beautiful, friendly and fun atmosphere there. That’s why their name is brinca dada (BREEN-kuh DEY-duh), taken from the Brazilian term “brincadeira” which translates to “game or plaything."
Naturally, their first major product is a dollhouse, but this ain’t your traditional run of the mill dollhouse. Nope. It’s ready for 2010. Not only does it feature working solar panels on the roof, but also has glass corners, a minimalist cut stone fireplace, scored hardwood floors, and recessed lights (LED). Made of wood (birch and others) and acrylic glass, it measures 18”H 22”W 36”L and is built at 1:12 scale. All stain and paints are non-toxic and lead free. Fun for the adult and child alike.

Combo Couch: All-in-One Lounger, Love Seat + Sofa Bed

This seating set from Zuiver builds on the classic fold-out footrest and flip-up backrest concepts of an easy chair, but take such loungers to new levels by expanding the entire idea horizontally into a multi-person love seat, then stretch it further to a full-length sleep-friendly sofa.

Sofa beds sneak two functions into one piece of furniture, but these designs go beyond the binary ‘convertible couch’ typology to be completely modular, comfortable for sitting up, laying back or lying down in any number of custom configurations.

The River House by YONOH

The latest from YONOH of Valencia. It has just won the Prize Porcelanosa Interiorismo 2010.

The House Generates its own electrical energy with a hydraulic Mill. The project “River”, it is based on a small independent loft from 70 m2 constructed on a river and uses a great hydraulic wheel to be supplied of energy. The housing divides in lounge, bedroom, kitchen, bath as well as a small terrace. It has been provided also with a porch of entry. The kitchen is 30 cms below the general level of the loft and the bedroom 30 cms above, which helps also to the good separation of the spaces. The outside is redressed in two different types from granite, to emphasize the different zones already from out. Both the exterior terrace and the porch of entry are realized by Iroco’s wood. The great wheel, glazed and placed inside the housing, turns into a predominant element and gives intimacy to the bedroom with regard to the rest of the house.
